Meet the Reform Candidates Supported by the Rate-Payer Volunteers
Anderson and Horst Speak Out on Trabuco's Skyrocketing Water Bills
“It’s irresponsible of the board to keep raising water rates without considering options.”
“Why are water rates so high compared to other districts?”
“They’re trying to keep the wrong people happy instead of the water bill payers.”
“Water board is a non-partisan office. Republican or Democrat, we’re all paying too much for water.”
Rate Payer Volunteers Respond to Incumbent Dopudja’s “Reducing Water Rates” Ad on Facebook
In office since 2014 with a solid record of rate hiking, including doubling and tripling meter charges last year, when will TCWD board president Dopudja actually start “reducing water rates”? Do struggling rate payers really want to find out by re-electing him for another four-year term? Read and comment on his ad here.
Who Are the Reform Campaign Volunteers?
We are a group of Trabuco Canyon neighbors fed up with our insanely high water bills and the water board that approved them. Determined to do something about it, we sought to recall three of the board members earlier this year, but fell slightly short of the petition signatures needed. Undeterred, we then solicited and interviewed candidates who shared our concerns and were willing to run for the two available water board seats in November. After careful vetting, we selected two very talented and qualified reform candidates to support.
Our grassroots campaign will not be sending you any glossy full-color mailers, barraging you with online ads or posting slick, highly-produced promotional videos. We can’t afford any of that. But we will appreciate your forwarding our newsletter to friends and relatives in the TCWD, and your courtesy toward our volunteers—your neighbors—as they quietly deliver a plainly printed flier to your door, asking for your vote to restore affordable water for all of us.
Are You Ready to Vote for Change?
Be prepared to do your civic duty on November 5 to fill the two seats with new members pledged to represent the rate payers and restore affordable water.
Be sure you are registered to vote. The deadline to register is October 21. If you are not registered to vote at your current address, or you are not sure, you can easily take care of it online here (https://registertovote.ca.gov/). Look for your ballot in the mail, and educate yourself on the issues. Stay tuned to TCWDwatchdog.substack.com for the latest news on the campaign to elect new reform candidates and how you can help.
Help spread the word. We need to reach everyone in the Trabuco Canyon Water District in order to get out the vote in November. If you have shown up at a TCWD meeting and had your 3 minutes to ask questions, they don't answer your questions...at all and say they will contact you by e-mail to answer them. Guess what folks, we have asked a lot of questions and they don't contact us, not only that, they are so afraid of the rate payers that they actually alter the statements and questions in the minutes of the meetings that totally changes what you said. These guys need to go NOW!
